HiPP not affected – Information on the current recalls of certain infant formula products

As a manufacturer of baby food products, we are aware of our special responsibility towards our little consumers. Therefore, HiPP does everything possible to ensure only products of the highest quality and safety are put up for sale. 

We understand the concerns surrounding the current recalls of certain infant formulas due to the potential presence of cereulide - a toxin produced by the microorganism Bacillus cereus - which is attributed to the ingredient ARA (arachidonic acid oil).

We therefore would like to reassure all concerned

  • HiPP milk formulas are not affected by the recalls.
  • HiPP sources ARA from a European supplier that is not impacted by the recall.
  • Parents can use our HiPP milk formulas without any concern. 

HiPP products are safe and doubtlessly suitable for the nutrition of babies and toddlers.

What is cereulide?
Cereulide is a toxin that can be produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus. In the current worldwide recalls, cereulid is attributed to the ingredient ARA (arachidonic acid oil) used by some manufacturers.

Are HiPP milk formulas affected by these recalls?
No. HiPP milk formulas are not affected by the recalls.

Does HiPP use the affected ARA ingredient?
No. HiPP sources ARA exclusively from a European supplier who is not impacted by the recall. Our supply chain does not include the affected raw materials.

What actions has HiPP taken in response to the incident?
After becoming aware of the incident at the end of December 2025, HiPP conducted a thorough review of its supply chain with a specific focus on:

  • The raw material ARA
  • The toxin cereulide

We are also in close and ongoing contact with our ARA supplier.

Is there any risk to consumers from HiPP milk formulas?
Based on our comprehensive review and ARA supplier confirmation, we see no risk within the HiPP supply chain. HiPP milk formulas are safe for consumption.
